Student Representative and participation

Our student members are represented by our two Co-Student Representatives. They are elected annually at our Annual Conference, by student members. Māori Law students can also get involved at University with their student associations. Please find below links to their relevant Facebook pages and/or groups.

We encourage our tauira to be part of all kaupapa Māori competitions run via the universities.  Each year the winners of each university competition for the Kaupapa Māori Moot and Kaupapa Māori Negotiations compete nationally as part of the Hui-ā-Tau programme.

Our tauira are an important part of the Hunga and our future.  To that end, their attendance at the annual Hui-ā-Tau is generally subsidised in some respect, whether that be through discounted registration fees or provision of meals/accommodation.  Each year this is assessed by the Executive as part of setting costs and planning for the wider Hunga schedule and benefits to all members.
