Te Hunga is a paid-membership society. Our Membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March.  We welcome new and old members to subscribe below for membership, in their relative category:

  1. All practising lawyers, and judges: membership fee of $100 (plus GST and fee);
  2. Non-practising lawyers and community law practitioners (e.g. academics, graduates without a practising certificate, and any person who is a Māori and has a law degree): annual membership fee of $75 (plus GST and fee); or
  3. There is no fee for students.

Some of the benefits that you will get out of your membership fee are:

  • Reduced registration costs for Hui-ā-Tau;
  • Subsidised regional and national networking functions;
  • Access to a members-only portal on this website, which includes exclusive content and materials;
  • Increased advocacy for members and for the Society’s values, including on Law reform;
  • Ngā Wahine Rōia; and
  • Voting and speaking rights at Te Hunga Rōia Maori and the AGM

The preferred method of payment for membership is via credit card however we may also be able to provide invoices.

After registration and payment of your membership fee (or just registering if you are a student) you will be allocated an account and password for our only members area of this website.
